Croatia Yacht Charter – Itinerary
Day 1: Start your Croatian adventure in the beautiful walled city of Dubrovnik. The wall completely encloses the Old City which has been fully rebuilt since the war. There are plenty of shops, restaurants and bars, plus many historical sites to visit, all within a leisurely stroll of each other.
Day 2: The first island of your charter will be Mljet. The entire western corner of Mljet is a national park, filled with oak and pine forests. Your chartered yacht from Taylor’d Yacht Charters will anchor in the bay off the small village of Polace with its Roman ruins. Visit the Monastery of St. Mary, located by the larger of two connected inland salt water lakes.
Day 3: Korcula, reputed birthplace of Marco Polo, is our next island stop. Anchor in one of the many small bays and enjoy swimming in the crystal clear waters. The village of Korcula, besides featuring the house that Marco Polo was supposedly born in, is home to a weekly Moreska, an intricate fighting dance performed with swords.
Croatia Yacht Charter – Itinerary – Day 4: Today it’s off to Vis, with a quick stop at Bisevo and its famous Blue Cave. During the late morning, the light shines through the waters of a submerged side entrance, bathing the cave in fabulous blue light. A quick swim in the limpid waters off the swim deck of your chartered yacht from Taylor’d Yacht Charters is recommended before heading to Vis. This remote and rocky island has been transformed from a forbidden army base to a holiday hotspot. Choose between the town of Vis, popular with the yachty crowd, or the quiet fishing village of Komiza to anchor for the night.
Day 5: Hvar Town, on the island of the same name, is the closest Croatia comes to Cannes. Swirling activity along the quayside, allows terrific people watching as the daytime activity. There are also several smaller islands close by for daytime fun. In the evening, back to Hvar Town, the club Carpe Diem is the place to be: “Reservations only”. Have your captain put your name on the list sometime during the day to guarantee your entrance.
Day 6: Brac is Dalmatia’s largest island and home to its most famous beach, the Golden Cape. The Golden Cape (Zlatni Rat in Croatian) is a 1,600+ foot finger of fine shingle that sticks out into the Adriatic like a natural pier. For those with too much energy, a 2 hour hike from nearby Bol will take you to Murvica, a village with walls covered with pagan paintings of wild beasts. If that doesn’t appeal to you, there is plenty of wind for kitesurfing, or just hang out on your charter yacht that you obtained from Taylor’d Yacht Charters, which seems like the best option.
Croatia Yacht Charter – Itinerary – Day 7: Dock alongside the quay at Trogir, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This quaint medieval village is filled with churches, towers, fortresses, and outdoor restaurants! A bustling green market is a great place to pick up local lavender and honey for last minute presents to take home. All too soon it is time to say goodbye to your yacht and crew and head over to the Split airport, leaving beautiful Croatia behind. Another wonderful voyage in the Mediterranean .
