Andros
Andros Yacht Charters – At 2,300 square miles, Andros is the largest island of The Bahamas and the fifth largest island in the Caribbean.
The first recorded discovery of Andros was in 1550, while the Spanish were searching for slave labor. By 1787, 1400 inhabitants of St. Andreas Island had found new homes on Andros. Although no one knows for sure, the name Andros is believed to be in honor of Sir Edmund Andros, Commander of His Majesty’s Forces.
Flamingos migrate here every year, and a host of incredible tropical wildlife covers the island. Tourists who want to see animals in their natural habitat should charter a yacht from Taylor’d Yacht Charters and come to Andros Island, Bahamas, as should fishing and scuba diving enthusiasts. Andros’ waters are well known to scuba divers and snorkelers, thanks to the third longest barrier reef in the world. The island currently stands as the bonefishing capital of the world.
