You need to have an idea of how many guests will be traveling together.  Four couples who golf together regularly, a honeymoon with just the two of you, or a package complete with an island wedding and a week long party afterwards with friends.  Are you a family of four, or are your kids going to want to bring a friend?  The maximum number of guests in a private yacht charter is 12. If there are more than 12 then the yacht must be licensed as a commercial vessel. Early booking is usually best, especially for popular destinations and yachts, so we advise you to plan ahead.  The Yacht Charter Seasons follow the weather. Power Yacht, Sailing Yacht, Catamaran Yacht or Motorsailer Yacht  Many people enjoy the speed a motor yacht affords, along with its roominess and luxury.  Others prefer the excitement of sailing, as much as arriving at new ports.

You can charter a yacht with a captain only.  It is an arrangement under which the charter company provides a qualified captain.  You and your party will be expected to do the meal preparation or to eat ashore.  You will be responsible for the captain’s meals as well.  Heads and Beds will also be your responsibility.  These are usually smaller yachts where the captain is the entire crew.

The best and most restful and stress free vacation is to book a cruise on a fully crewed yacht, where the boat is exclusively yours for the duration.  The vessel can be sail or power, and the crew will navigate, sail, and prepare the beverages and meals.  The whole boat is yours to go wherever you like.  Your crew will be responsible for serving you three meals a day, plus preparing the many exotic or traditional island beverages and magnificent gourmet dishes for your evening meals.  If you wish, your chef can also have a cocktail hour with hors d’houvers before your evening meal.  The chefs on board luxury yachts pride themselves in the quality and variety of their meals.  Most are culinary trained.  This truly remarkable vacation has no equal on earth.  Sailing on your own private yacht with an attentive and knowledgeable crew to attend to your every need has to be the ultimate experience.  It is this alternative that Taylor’d Yacht Charters has particular expertise.

Charter yachts come in a huge array of types and sizes, and so do their prices.  On average a sailing yacht all inclusive charter will run between $1,500 to $2,000 per person for a seven night trip.  The only items not included are port and cruising fees and the customary crew gratuity.  Power yachts are slightly more expensive at $2,000 to $3,000 per person minimum.  Remember every time you ask for “more” (cabins/baths/toys/crew), the price will be “more” also.  If your family budget is tight, let Taylor’d Yacht Charters  recommend a great boat and crew where maybe three kids share a cabin, or baths are shared.  You’ll have every bit as much fun, which is the point of a vacation.  The exception to these generalities are the Luxury Mega Yachts, both power and sail, that cruise in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean.  These higher rates cover yacht and crew only with all expenses being charged as extras.  You can spend upwards of $20,000 per person for the luxury vacation of a lifetime, but it is well worth it!
